We operate allotment gardens on Quainton Road
Allotment gardening has experienced an increase in popularity recently. Allotments are an important and valuable community resource, providing residents with the opportunity to grow a wide variety of produce, soft fruit and flowers that they perhaps would not otherwise have the space for.
The Council offer both large and small allotments. If you are new to allotment gardening you may wish to take on a small plot in the first instance, as the maintenance of a large plot takes considerable time and commitment. In early 2023 the council added 9 extra plots.
To apply for an allotment, please contact the Parish Clerk in the first instance with your name, address, contact number and email. A visit to the site will be arranged once a plot becomes available.
Allotment Charges
There are different rates for residents and non-residents of the Parish and residents will always take priority – non-residents will only be allocated an allotment if there are vacant plots and no waiting list.
The charges for the year 2023/24 are:
Residents
- Small £11
- Medium £22
- Large £28
- X-large £34
Non-residents
- Small £15
- Medium £30
- Large £37.50
- X-large £45
Key Deposit Fee
All new tenants will be issued with a key to the gate padlocks – replacement keys will be charged at £5
Plot Clearance Fee
Minimum £50 – the charge will be dependent on the amount of material to be cleared.
Late Payments
Late payments may incur a standard admin fee.
The full allotment fee is payable on the day the tenancy agreement is signed and thereafter is due on 1st October each year. The tenancy agreement contains all the terms and conditions of tenancy. The allotments are inspected quarterly to ensure that tenants are abiding by these terms and conditions – failure to do so may result in the termination of the tenancy.
